Regina Maria Laboratories – How We Filmed 6 Commercials in a Single Day
A bold project. And a nonstop Sunday.
Sometimes great shoots are born in unexpected places. This time, in a medical lab. Yes, a real one.
The client – Regina Maria – The Private Healthcare Network – offered its own laboratory in Bucharest, and the Parcfilm team was given a clear mission: to film all six spots in a single day. On a Sunday. The lab’s activity was temporarily stopped so we could turn the space into a film set.
Bogdan Mirică + Laurențiu Bănescu = a reaction combination.
The campaign is a collection of mini-scenarios full of humor, written by International Waters and Punk Communications. And when Mirică and Bănescu step on set, everything flows naturally.
The two already share an impressive history – the “Umbre” (HBO) series, the film “Dogs”, plus other projects where they’ve proven they can deliver subtle comedy without gimmicks.
For “Regina Maria Laboratories,” the humor is tonic: it talks about technology and medical precision without feeling like a biology lesson.

From choosing the director and actors to the last cable packed at wrap-up, Parcfilm coordinated the entire video production.
We handled everything: full film crew, Director of Photography Andrei Butică, costumes, styling, makeup, logistics, and cinema-grade equipment.
Andrei Butică is the man behind the visuals of films such as Dogs, Everybody in Our Family, Child’s Pose, and The Death of Mr. Lăzărescu — a professional with an unmistakable visual style.

For image, we went with a combination that never fails:

The look was natural and warm, not ultra-tech — unlike our previous campaign for Synevo, “The Invisible Doctors”. The focus was on the actor’s expressions, dialogue rhythm, and the natural flow of situations.
12 hours. 6 spots. 1 lab.
Anyone who knows what a shoot day is like will instantly understand the challenge: six commercials filmed back-to-back, each with a different script, in the same location.
It was a race against time. Every second counted: setup, lighting, costumes, props. Bogdan Mirică worked closely with Laurențiu Bănescu to fine-tune every comic nuance. Many takes were repeated 10 times just to perfect the pause between two lines.
And that’s where a director’s mastery shows — in the actor’s inner rhythm, not in editing tricks.
Post-production, VFX, and perfectionism.
After wrap, comes the phase where patience is everything. Our post-production and VFX team stepped in:
- editing all six spots,
- color grading,
- frame cleanup (wires, cables, pipes — everything that shouldn’t be in a lab),
- screen replacements on TVs,
- voice-over and original music.
The result? Clean, fluid spots, with a warm tone and jokes that stick with you.
Conclusion: Sundays can be productive.
Filming six spots in one day shouldn’t be a standard recipe. But when the crew is synchronized, the gear is calibrated, and the actors perform with joy, everything feels effortless.
